Facts about the cellular backup unit:
- Unlike VOIP (a phone service over the Internet), it will transmit signals from your alarm system, even when the power is out.
- The cellular unit transmits via cell tower, operating independently of any cell phone provider. It does not require you to sign up with any cell phone company and will not incur monthly charges from a cellular phone provider.
- Critical institutions such as banks use cellular backup units for their alarm systems
- It is the best option for customers without a standard land-based phone line.
